Bulan, Sorsogon, November 18, 2009: The nationally-renowned priest-governor of Pampanga Province, Edgardo “Among Ed” Panlilio, together with his provincial staff and members of the OXFAM-GB, NDCC/OCD, PAG-ASA and DILG, listened intently as they were being briefed on the Disaster-Risk Reduction Program of the Local Government Unit of Bulan today at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall as part of their educational trip to  the Province of Sorsogon.

This visit of the Panlilio group is part of the exchange learning visits between provinces to provide opportunity of experiential learning, especially on strategies in addressing the natural hazards that beset communities and interfacing with readiness to institutionalize risk-reduction.

Pampanga, just like Sorsogon, is one of the hazard-prone areas in the country.

Governor Sally Lee and other staff members from the Sorsogon Public Safety Office accompanied Governor Panlilio’s group in coming to Bulan. The group also visited the Bulan MDCC Office. Aside from Bulan, the visitors also paid a visit to Magallanes, Matnog, Bulusan, Prieto Diaz and Irosin.
